APHTA Planners
These planners were prepared over a number of years by teachers from East Dunbartonshire Council and are now being shared with all schools across the Archdiocese of Glasgow through the Archdiocesan Primary Headteacher’s Association (A.P.H.T.A.). These planners outline a detailed pathway through the experiences and outcomes and core learning of ‘This is our faith’ from early to second level. They follow a thematic approach which is outlined in the ‘whole school’ and ‘stage planners’ which are included on this website and are based on the Liturgical Calendar of the Church and other relevant themes.
The planning formats are written in such a way that they enable teachers to plan for the needs of their own class, but with enough detail to enable them to provide rich experiences across the four contexts of learning:
- Class
- Whole school
- Home
- Parish.
A.P.H.T.A would like to express their gratitude to East Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire Councils for funding these developments.
