AWARD IN CATHOLIC THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION

Picture

The Award is a two year course in Catholic Theological Education which is supported by the University of Glasgow.  It is designed to help people to better understand their Faith, communicate it to others and with their parishes to grow in knowledge, understanding and faith.  Many people have followed the course and gone on to be of great service to their parishes in the Archdiocese.
WHAT DID JESUS DO?

He chose the twelve,
trained them during several years of intimate company, commissioned them and sent them out as authorised witnesses and teachers of the message of salvation.
And the Twelve in their turn sent out their successors who, in the apostolic line, continue to preach the Good News.

“I want a laity, not arrogant, not rash in speech, not disputatious, but who know their religion, who enter into it, who know just where they stand, who know what they hold and what they do not, who know their creed so well that they can give an account of it, who know so much of history that they can defend it.”
Blessed John Henry Newman

“What the world is in particular need of today is the credible witness of people enlightened in mind and heart by the word of the Lord, and capable of opening the hearts and minds of many to the desire for god and for true life, life without end.”
Pope Benedict XVI, Porta Fidei, 15
