What is catechesis?
Catechesis is the totality of the Church’s efforts to make disciples, to help people believe that Jesus is the Son of God so that believing they may have life in his name. (CCC 4)

To put all of the above into practice in the parish under the guidance of the parish priest.

- As catechists we are called to reveal the person of Jesus, the Christ.
- We do this by helping people to understand the meaning of Jesus’ life, death, resurrection and glorification.

- It is building the Kingdom here on earth.
- It is helping people recognise and understand God’s revelation in the Judeo-Christian tradition
- It is about using peoples’ experiences to bring them closer to Jesus.
